This post is a part of a photo series called Faces I started a while ago on The Grey Mustard. It features inspirational people I come across on the internet and in my everyday life. This episode features Kayla Eachells, a talented writer, future Christopher Nolan, environmental blogger and brilliant painter and depicts her as three different types of girls. Each one very much a part of her as the next.

I have known Kayla since primary school. She was the girl that always seemed to have something on her mind. You could just tell that she was always somewhere else, somewhere cooler than where the rest of us were. She wasn't the popular girl, no. Kayla was The Cool Girl. The biker jacket type that listened to rock music and chatted with the boys without having to flirt or dumb herself down. She was about her own business, thinking of ideas for films she would make in the future, probably.

The way Kayla speaks, writes and sometimes dresses, makes one wonder if she might have been Janis Joplin or Ali Macgraw or Jacqueline Bisset or Lee Radziwill in her past life. Kayla is the type of girl that can buy a Bon Iver vinyl of from a run down shop somewhere in Newtown, Jo'burg and not be labelled a hipster. She is The [original] Vintage Girl.
