For the minimalists, normcores and makeup newbies out there, I feel y'all. This is for you!
I know very little about makeup and i'm completely okay with that. I'm a winged liner and basic lippie type of girl. I do like to up my game a bit for winter though because who doesn't love how swanking winter fashion is! My makeup for this winter, and quite possibly, the rest of the year will focus on brightening up my features and complimenting my melanin so I look like a Golden goddess with as little effort and makeup as possible. I have even abandoned foundation.
Without further waffling and rambling, here are my 2K16 winter beauty picks

The Everyday Look: Brows brushed up with a clean soolie. Outer corners of the eyes accented with Rose eyeshadow by Eyelure, I'm obsessed with the gold effect against my melanin. Avon Glow Bronzer balls on my nose, forehead and cheekbones. Lips lined with Raisin by Yardley ColourStay and filled in with Ebony Wine by Black Opal and Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creme in Stockholm.
I tend to focus on 3 features, namely,
1. LIPS
Deep purples and reds and nude lippies are my winter lip staples.
Model: The beautiful Emese Nolan

This deep purple by Rimmel London in the colour Cutting Edge. Other lovely purples I use are Yardley London's Supermoist+ in Dark Cherry and Currant by MAC.

Emese is wearing Stockolm by Nyx Cosmetics and mixed with an unknown light pink lippie. My skin is a lot darker than Emese's so I use Sienna by Yardley London.

This burnt reddish-brown colour is my favourite! It is bold and can make anyone feel like a badass! Black Opal's Ebony Wine is my favourite colour for the season, I just can't get enough. I usually line my lips in Raisin by Yardley ColourStay and fill my lips in with this deliciously decadent colour.
2. EYES

I love what mascara can do for the face. It opens and wakes your eyes up. I use Opulash by MAC for dramatic lashes and Illegal Length by Maybelline New York [pictured] for fuller, plentiful lashes.
I hardly ever use eyeliner these days but if you are a liner kind of gal the I recommend the Carbon Black Revlon ColourStay liner.
3. SKIN

Golden or prefectly bronzed skin is a really effortless way to glam up a look and add brightness to your skin. I'm in love with Avon's Glow bronzer balls. You can use it in 2 ways. You can crush a ball or 2 into your moisturiser, mix it well then apply to any place on your skin you want to brighten (I like to use it on the bridge and tip of my nose, my cheekbones, my forehead and chin) or you can rub a makeup brush over the balls and use it to lightly highlight your features. I couple the latter technique with a base of Maybelline's Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer.
I hope this was helpful. Please remember to treat your skin right as well by drinking water, eating a fruit (or more) a day and abstaining from the regular use of chemicals and heavy, gunky products. It's okay to go bare faced somedays and give your skin a break.
Love you, Talk Later
