Some Days are Harder Than Others: Take 2

My mother is truly a wonderful woman. She is constantly motivating me to do and be better. Just recently, she started reading my blog and warming up to the idea of me possibly pursuing career of a more creative nature. This is great news because my mom loves to offer helpful and constructive critiques. Although we tend to argue as a result, I appreciate her insight. It allows me to reflect and grow as a person.

A while ago, I posted a blog entry about dealing with tough days which my mom read just yesterday. Her feedback made me realise that my advice to you was really crappy. So my mom, brother and I spoke about how one should properly deal with an off day. They both had very different and equally savvy approaches and advises. Depending on the type of day and person you are, either could help lift your spirits.

Refresh the Body to Refresh The Mind

A warm shower or bath, healthy breakfast and water, copious amounts of it, will help you feel cleaner, lighter and more ready to tackle the day.

Take a Walk

Fresh air and time alone can allow the mind to breathe, shaking away the slummy feeling of the day.

Talk to Someone... or Something

Anyone from your father to a total stranger or anything from paper to your video camera, can be great company. If you are not particularly sure of what is bothering you or you know and don't feel like talking about it, then talk about anything. Talking can let off stream and be quite cathartic.

Breathe

Take deep and slow breathes when you start to feel heavy.

My brother's advice is far more radical however strangely helpful. He suggests that you should

Take Short, Cold Showers

He reckons that cold showers force you to think about getting out of the shower and forget about what is bothering you.

Listen to Irritatingly Happy Music

And blast it! This will force your brain to think happy thoughts even if you probably hate Carly Rae Jepson.

Dress Up and Avoid Mirrors

Like doll tf up! Just do it without a mirror because you may end up focusing on your flaws.

Talk to The Quiet Friend

Just for 30 mins. Any longer and conversation might take a turn for the sad. Keep the conversation lighthearted and positive.

Reflect

Reflect on happier times.

If all else fails, remember not to freak out, everyday ends.

I am only a start up blogger and still have a lot to learn and fix but I will get there, I live off your continuous support and take your feedback seriously. I hope that this article was more insightful and a better, more helpful read.
